世界大賽第一戰開打，印地安人隊投打表現優異，先發投手Corey Kluber（克魯伯）先發6局沒失分，Roberto Perez（培瑞茲）轟雙響砲，打下4打點，終場印地安人6比0擊敗小熊，拿到第一勝。世界大賽第二戰台北時間27日上午7時進行，印地安人隊由Trevor Bauer先發，小熊隊由Jake Arrieta主投。
此戰兩隊都排出王牌投手先發，印地安人隊是Corey Kluber、小熊隊是Jon Lester。Kluber前3局飆出8次三振，超越Bob Gibson、Orlando Hernandez以及Randy Johnson共同保持前3局7次三振的世界大賽紀錄。
Kluber七局上被Ben Zobrist敲出安打後退場，Andrew Miller上場中繼，他一上場就保送Kyle Schwarber，接著又被Javier Baez敲出安打，無人出局滿壘。此時Miller發揮滅火的功力，先讓Willson Contreras打出中外野飛球，接殺，再連續三振Addison Russell、David Ross，精采地化解危機。
Kluber此戰先發6局被擊出4支安打沒失分，三振9次、沒保送。Miller中繼2局也沒失分，目前在季後賽出賽7場，投13.2局沒失分，最後一局Cody Allen上場，守住勝果，三名投手聯手完封小熊隊，而且飆出15次三振。
小熊隊Jon Lester表現沒有Kluber出色，印地安人隊1局下兩出局之後，Francisco Lindor擊出安打，接著成功盜上二壘，Lester連續保送Mike Napoli、Carlos Santana，滿壘，Jose Ramirez打出內野安打，打回第1分，Brandon Guyer又被觸身球保送，攻得第2分，4局下Roberto Perez轟出陽春彈。 Lester此戰先發5.2局被擊出6支安打包括1轟，失3分，吞敗投。8局下Perez再從Hector Rondon手中轟出3分砲，一棒定江山。
印地安人隊此戰擊出10支安打，除了Perez轟雙響砲，有4打點，Jose Ramirez敲3安、1打點，Francisco Lindor也擊出3支安打，小熊隊打出7支安打，Ben Zobrist打出3支安打，表現最佳。
