聖安東尼奧馬刺明星小前鋒Kawhi Leonard在本季首戰屠殺金州勇士的比賽中飆生涯新高35分，今日對沙加緬度國王再轟30分助隊102：94勝，連2場30分比賽的高檔演出，幫助黑衫軍用二連勝開季。
除了在攻擊端有爆炸演出之外，Leonard此役再一次交出5次抄截表現，連續兩戰30分5抄截演出，NBA史上只有Eddie Jones在2002年效力邁阿密熱火時完成過，並在第3節落後時連續從Ben McLemore手中抄走皮球，帶起反攻氣勢。
談到子弟兵第3節的這次精彩連續防守反擊演出，馬刺主帥Gregg Popovich這樣說：「他說著「把球給我拿來！」，然後就這麼發生了，他沒看對手是誰，專注在那顆球上然後出手，並且連續2次辦到，這種能力在NBA很罕見。」
「你常能見到有NBA球員在攻擊端有高水平演出，但這傢伙可是在攻、守兩端皆臻頂級，而且你很難評論他的攻、守到底哪一個比較優秀，Leonard是一個非常特殊的球員。」本季才加盟的Pau Gasol說。
不過，一向沉默寡言的Leonard，在連續2場交出好表現後仍是非常省話。
「我只是試著幫助球隊，把球隊的防守表現稍微提升一些。」
馬刺用二連勝結束加州客場之旅，下一戰將回到主場，主場開幕戰的對手為紐奧良鵜鶘。
